We know that businesses grow, pivot, and sometimes take a new direction—and we want to make sure you have everything you need to move forward with confidence.
If you decide to cancel one or more of your subscriptions, our goal is to guide you through the process and help ensure your LLC stays compliant with state requirements. Below you’ll find clear instructions for each type of plan.
LLC Plan Cancellation
Your LLC plan includes the Annual Compliance service to the extent required by the State. With this plan, we file any required reports and monitor state regulations.
Even if you cancel this plan with us, your LLC may still have ongoing State obligations. Filing an annual report is required by most states to keep your LLC in good standing and avoid potential penalties or involuntary dissolution.
Once your subscription ends, you’ll be responsible for filing these reports yourself and staying on top of deadlines to avoid penalties.
Registered Agent Plan Cancellation
Having a Registered Agent is required for LLCs in all states and is responsible for receiving critical documents sent from the State on your behalf - including legal notices, government correspondence, and lawsuit notifications.
As long as your LLC is still active with the state, we’re still obligated to act as the Registered Agent. To proceed with the plan cancellation, a new Registered Agent needs to be assigned instead. This can be done by filing an Amendment with your state.
Keep in mind that Registered Agents must meet specific requirements, such as having a physical address in your LLC’s state and being available during all business hours to physically accept documents.
If you are shutting down your business, you’ll need to officially dissolve it with your State to cancel our plan. Dissolution is the formal process of closing your LLC with the state, officially ending its legal existence.
Once you’ve filed your Amendment to appoint your new Registered Agent, or the Dissolution to officially shut down your business, you can provide these documents through your dashboard following these steps:
1. Go to the LLC tab in your account.
2. Click Manage LLC.
3. Click the arrow next to Registered Agent and select Cancel Service.
After you click Cancel Service, you'll be guided through the steps needed to finalize this.
Virtual Address Plan Cancellation
The Virtual Address service provides you with a physical address—without the need for a physical office or publicly displaying your personal information.
If you cancel, your current Virtual Address will no longer be active once your plan expires.
Please note that once the Virtual Address subscription ends, it cannot be reactivated. You may need to check with your state to ensure your LLC records are up to date, as the address may appear on the documents you filed.
Additionally, the same address cannot be reclaimed after your subscription ends, as it will be released and is no longer reserved.
If you're set on canceling, you can easily start the process yourself. Just follow these steps:
1. Click on Account in the top right corner
2. Click Manage Account > Purchases > Virtual Mail Service
3. Click on the Arrow and then click on Cancel Subscription
Since your Virtual Address may be listed with the State, additional filings might be needed to proceed with the cancellation. No worries, though. After you click Cancel Service, you'll be guided through the steps needed to finalize this.
