What is an MX record and how do I add an MX record?

An MX record is used to direct mail to an email server and it is crucial for Business Mailbox creation.

A DNS 'mail exchange' (MX) record directs email to a mail server. The MX record indicates how email messages should be routed in accordance with the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP, the standard protocol for all email).

MX records must always point to another domain. An example of an MX record:

To add an MX record to a domain purchased with Tailor Brands, go to the Domain Advanced Settings

Then add an MX record according to the instructions provided to you.

Please allow up to 48 hours for your DNS changes to take full effect globally.
