What is a TXT record and how do I add a TXT record?

A TXT record allows admins to store text notes in the record. Today, two of the most important uses for DNS TXT records are email spam prevention and domain ownership verification

The DNS ‘text’ (TXT) record lets a domain administrator enter text into the Domain Name System (DNS). The TXT record was originally intended as a place for human-readable notes. However, now it is also possible to put some machine-readable data into TXT records. One domain can have many TXT records.

Example of a TXT record:

To add an TXT record to a domain purchased with Tailor Brands, go to the Domain Advanced Settings

And add a TXT record according to instructions provided to you.

Please allow up to 48 hours for your DNS changes to take full effect globally.
