What is a Basic Federal U.S. Trademark Direct Hit Search?

A direct hit search is a search of the USPTO database of all pending applications and registered trademarks for identical trademarks. This search could identify whether or not there may be any conflicts with any prior pending trademark application or any prior trademark registration.

If, as a result of the search, we find an identical trademark, it can reduce the chances that your trademark will be successfully registered with the USPTO. In this case we will inform you so you can explore your given options.
